A mate just bought a Defender 90 for £2k from near Dundee. Looked like it lived in the sea, it was a rusty mess but he mainly wants if for the engine and gearbox as he's converting and restoring a military defender.
Bargain had thereMy employer sold off all their 2008 Puma 90 fleet in 2017, I paid £4500 for mine off them as it was a bit dinged!
Just down the road from me... a few weeks back I asked around on here if anyone had done a minibus to camper conversion - the general feeling seemed to be it's hard to insulate a bus and many campsites won't let them in, so I didn't pursue it. A mate's cousin has a Merc minibus that he bought to convert during lockdown but never even started; my mate suggested I go and view it but can I be bothered...Advance info
I know where there's an Iveco Iris campervan parked up ( Iveco daily with posh coach fittings - DIY converted to a mobile home).
It was decent, got parked up during lockdown and then failed on some chassis corrosion and a brake pipe ( I've fixed the pipe but the brakes now need bleeding).
The lass who owns it has got fed up of being let down by folk who are going to do the work so is planning to sell it in the spring after she's bought a replacement.
It's an ex-Bristol Patient transport vehicle (mini-coach with double glazing & lots of sets - most seats now removed). Happy to pass on details if anyone wants to put their name down or has quesrtions, no harm in asking if she will let it go before Spring if you want a winter project.
Location nr Darlington, DL14
It will need trailered away as the brakes are soft and it's been parked up for a while.
I'll let him know but I think he's bought it use as much as he can. But even the panels are corroded. He's also using the loom, dash (I think), rear bulkhead, front axle to the back so it's discs etc. It actually drove onto the trailer but it is rotten and also drivers door smashed. If it's a 300, get him to sell the scraps to me?
I've got an engine and gearbox. And axels. And bulkhead. And some wings...and a door...
