Is that where my missing 10mm sockets went?File the end of a 10mm socket to create the two pegs. There'll still be enough of the socket left to use as a 10mm socket. Win-win :-))
I filed the end of an old DIN plug sleeve for the purpose. Still have it.
I use up imperial sockets for stuff like this as there is no danger of ever needing one..

I had the same.I’ve still got Whitworth sockets, I split the 5/16 one a while back & had a job replacing it. Halfords didn’t know what I was talking about ”we got rid of them old English ones” he was meaning AF!
