where are you buying crimps/spades etc online

made the foolish mistake of buying some ebay crimps , but luckily decided to test them before proper use , these ones pull apart by hand vs some wurth ones i have feel like you tow a car with the crimp

any personal recommendations for sellers that dont sell rubbish , dont have to be the best of the best , but something that works as it should

got my eye on farnell , are they any good?

Farnell are excellent, but prices are (on most things) comparable with RS so usually not the cheapest. Saying that I’ve just ordered some 24v power supppies for a project from there and they were actually very reasonable.

They do keep good stock of stuff and it’s generally all with you next day.

Amp/TE Connectivity are probably the gold standard for these type of PIDG crimps.
But honestly I've had good luck with the cheap generic one from wholesalers - the key is a quality ratchet crimping tool IMO, if you are using the old superchamp style things you are on a hiding to nothing.

i have box full of nice crimp tools...like i say crimp the same with a wurth connector its unburstable

just trying to weed out cheap china dregs vs usuable really...hard since they all look the same

Major brands ... and usually from rs.. convenience more than anything but at the cost per I don't think it's worth messing about unless you use hundreds a week

no doesnt have to be online , im not driving 50 miles for a bag of spades though

some people tend to say xxx brand or whatever thats only avail to trade in boxes of 10,000 etc

Neighbour got a batch to do a job, and they were rubbish. Crimping them as hard as possible you could pull the wire back out as there was no thickness to the crimp metal, so it never really crimped. It just opened up again.

We get them from various places at work, and never had any issues, but the Beal one's were pretty much junk.
