Hi, A few years ago a workmate was looking on ebay for a wheelie bin to replace the one his son had damaged, he found 2 for 99p until I pointed out they were under 'model railway' heading.
I bought a brand new, Chinese, boxed folding electric bike off eBay for £100. When I asked seller if it'd fit in the back of my car they said I'd need a large van ! When I read the auction details it was for 6 brand new complete and boxed bikes and another 7, also brand new, but missing batteries. Turned out it was an importer who was clearing out a forgotten couple of pallets in corner of warehouse. Hired van got them home and lock-up filled Sold the prefect bikes for £50 each.
I once got a mirror off Freecycle, advertised as 36 x 72. Just right for the bathroom I thought. When I saw it I realised he meant inches and I was thinking cms. I still managed to get it the car and then upstairs and installed in a bedroom by myself.
Seeing this just made me think of that series from the 80's, Sledge Hammer, (played by David Rasche). Specifically, the episode where they issued him with a replacement gun. Just been watching a few clips of the series on Youtube, and it still seems as funny as it did back then. Doesn't seem to have to have lost its humour with time one bit.
