True, looks identical to my one but in red, but, it is very, very good, and likely cuts bigger and stronger than the genuine ( mine cuts 40mm, genuine listed as 32mm)
The genuine ones dont have any additional safety features.

Except they do. Quick look at Milwaukee ones and they have dual triggers. First trigger under fingers has to be depressed and held then the 2nd trigger pulled. Those China ones look to only have one trigger is that correct?
End also stays closed when not in use and trigger pressed to open the jaws in use. Do the China ones have that feature too? Or open all the time?
That's two pretty major safety features and what would have prevented the injury in this thread.
Anyways as I said I wouldn't use one or have it around the house full stop. In genuine or non genuine format.
I use this type. Effortless cutting, and both hands on the ends means even I can't screw it up! (Stock image)

That double trigger isnt really a safety as you'd be pressing it anyway just by holding it. Would only help if you had it clipped to harness/waist with it left on. As I said, turn it off when not cutting and give it the proper respect and it is a safe tool.
The chinese ones do open after cutting if you do a normal cut and release. To close the blades either cut and hold trigger 4 secs to deactivate or hold trigger and switch off. Make a habbit of turning off.
For somone wanting a lower risk version of the same tool, get one with extended reach

Confession time. I was building Items for display in the shop. One was a bench drill. Bolted the pillar on, Head unit put on top, screwed the head unit on. Went on great.
