Alas, it will be at least 12 months before I return to this project, which is already three years old. My friend bowed out during the first lockdown when he realised I was serious about being paid for fabricating the frames and building the wheel sets; he's just another hippy who thought that things would organically and holistically happen and that I could be paid in instalments by giving me 5% net of the weekly hire bookings when he eventually got bookings! This I must see a bike caravan build on here Having made a recycled recumbent ( Andrew Carson’s plans) I think a bike caravan would be a good thread.
If my Illness, Brexit and the national covid lockdowns had not all occurred concurrently I would have probably carried the debt for the materials and 16 hours at living wage; then it might have been highly likely that I would cover both the cost of some of the materials and my labour during the fit-out; but I would have taken at least 40% of the business in return.
Anyway this is all academic now. I had to pay my suppliers and I lost my friend because I wanted my costs covered. After some wrangling bordering on nastiness from both sides, I reprocessed the frames with the intention of selling them on as bike trailers and for whatever other multitude of reasons they have sat in a corner of the workshop for nigh on 2 years accumulating dust.
However, me and 'er-in-doors looked at and then discussed these frames a couple or three months ago and we decided that if my health allows then next year we shall kit them out as originally intended as a vardo and a hoop canvas style caravans and see what the market is.
