Friend of mine has bought a trailer and it has 3 stud wheels, has any one an idea of what they re off?
We assumed Citroen 2CV but we have been told there are several different ones?
Looking at pictures of 2CV wheels, everything I see has a solid, projecting centre.
The three studs projecting are for a hubcap, so that might point more to a car than a dedicated trailer wheel (a trailer wheel is utilitarian, so could be less likely to have hubcap provision).
Measure the distance between the studs and calculate the PCD. Measure the centre hole. What nation, other then the French, produced three stud wheels?
Hi, A few cars had three stud wheels Citreon LNA, Peugeot 104, Talbot Samba, Renault Twizzy, DAF 33. Among those are more than one PCD's and centre bores. Having said that it does look like a trailer wheel being 12"
you would need to check the offset as well as the inner pcd as well but for what its worth the offset to me looks like a trailer specific rim not a car 2cv wheels are normally 15" not 13" and offset is different from pic
Thanks, now I know I'll not make that mistake again. I don't think I've ever measured a wheel, either I've taken the size from the tyre or from the stamped on numbers. The closest I would have come to it would be using a tyre balancing machine's measuring devices.
