wheel gun charger

Guys. The charger on my sealey 24v ni-cd wheel gun has stopped working and is no longer available. What is stopping me charging the battery with my 12/24v car battery charger??

I would have thought something like a 1010b+ rc Battery pack charger would be more suitable as it’s capable of charging a 1 - 25 cell Nimh or nicad battery pack without overcharging

got a pic of the battery ?, i have a gun that has only been used a couple of times, the batteries died so it has been collecting dust ever since, you are welcome to the charger

The 12V/24V car battery charger will not be suitable for charging sealed NiMH-type packs, as it has no means of limiting current, and no means of sensing when full charge has been reached. The only thing it might be used for would be to "unstick" a pack that is reluctant to charge but, even then, only using brief charging pulses.

looks very similar, the dims on the "post" on mine are 53 mm high,48mm long and 25 wide, your bottom pic, the negative post is at the top ?.
the charger is quite heavy, its a boschmann brand, ill check out the postage tommorow.
had a look on e bay and they are £130/ £350 odd so probs out of stock , mine was about £30 i think

Plug a car battery charger into a nicad. Or Nimh battery and it’ll go bang

If there is no current regulation the battery will just pull all avalible current and get hot.
