Have you got an airfed mask and a large enough compressor to provide the required air volume for it and the spraygun if you are planning on using 2k paints with isocyanates?
It’s been 4 years since I posted this initially and what I use now is one coat of Bonda (red) oxide with zinc as my primer, this stops the rust on my working piece, then when I am ready for the paint finish, I key the 1st coat, spray on a 2nd coat , leave it overnight and then spray the colour basecoat and then 2k laquer in either matt or gloss, job done.
I am using universal thinners for everything and I stay away from cellulose. I also find it easier to spray the basecoat/laquer system to the all in one, but that maybe just me.
