Ingersoll rand 1" drive impact gun

Bought cheap with no garauntee

Works fine but there is no trigger as such it just flops about and doesn't stop the airflow atall

Only way to stop it is to unplug

Upon taking it apart a load of leathery sort of crumbly bits were found where i reckon the sealing washer originally was

As can be seen in the pictures the centre pin is operated by the trigger which pushes whatever seal away from it's seat and it is then returned by a spring pushing on this seal from the opposite side when the triggers released

Question is what is this seal meant to be as can't seem to find it as a spare part not even in america!!

Think whatever it's meant to be will have to be homemade now

Probably a mesh filter and spindle valve that is operated by the trigger,,(plus the fitting for the airline of course)

Hi, This suggests it's just 'O' rings, but Gordon's suggestion of a mesh filter is probably also true as well.

The spring is still there but how could a steel ball have disappeared??

My theory it was something that had broken up and slowly gone through the machine but perhaps someones been here before if there's a steel ball missing

I'll have a look for a ball bearing later and have a play!!

ask for Kevin Collier, top guy really knows his stuff. I got stuff off the shelf for a really old ingersoll rand nut gun, which is the same as the CP model. Seems you have the same missing parts mind did, the inlet is composed of a few parts, you need them all to work. I'm guessing yours might be the same.

According to the parts list provided by @mrfuzzy the ball is 1/2" in diameter Throttle valve

I would have thought the valve needs to be relatively hard so it doesn't deform with the air pressure or get attacked by any oil used for lubrication

Only just looked at this on my pc so item 6 is the ball as my earlier post and 9 the spring which you already have

12mm stainless ball bearing ordered off ebay so we shall wait and see
