According to my googling, kerosene is paraffin and paraffin is actually a wax. (basically I have no idea).

As far as I know, both simply crude oil fractions, just like diesel and petrol.

They're the American definitions. We have paraffin, paraffin wax and liquid paraffin, and kerosene to us is heating oil, whereas as to them it's what we term paraffin, (though I have occasionally wondered what they class as heating oil, and if that's kerosene, then what is their version of our paraffin? Anyhows, I'm digressing ). Confusing much....

That's pretty much how I understand the difference. Don't know whether it's right or not though. Kerosene apparently combusts slightly better than paraffin too.

Kerosene is cheaper and pongs more than paraffin. For most uses, you'd notice little difference other than the smell.

Yeah the guy who sold it ne said he used to use paraffin in his greenhouse and was thinking of using kerosene but was told the fumes would stink.

I just grabbed a gallon of kerosene as they wanted 9 quid for a gallon paraffin.

I would have had some jizer as it's on offer for 16 quid a gallon from euro car parts but the fact they say the RRP is 54 quid made me wonder...lol

Essentially the same. Prem kero is abit cleaner than kero. Both have same un no 1223
