Should really be revising but I'm bored so let's resurrect an old thread;

The power setting dial on my oerlikon miniarc used to be from 5 round to 130 amps going up in tens. My new one is a nightmare to dial in correctly. View attachment 92835

The dial on my welder is exactly the same (Funny that), There's no way the numbers on the dial can line up with the actual current, I'm wondering if I could swap that 10K pot (Far right) out for a nice multi turn one and add a little 7 segment-based display. Plenty of room in there to hide a brain box and pass a ribbon cable through the louvres in the front...

Tweco arcmaster 220 AC/DC
Cooler is heavier and bulkier than the welder
2 wave settings. Ac soft and ac unbearable.
Front gas connector is threaded (tools for torch change, pet hate of mine)

Cover removal for cleaning and checking is a job because the front and back sections including the panel need to come off.

Pedal and torch switch go in the same socket. (I’ve rectified this problem mind)

Fronius mw2000 fuzzy.

Almost 30kg with cooler
Pots on the panel are super sensitive if you sneeze on them you send it up another 10 amps.
Every thing useful is in hidden menus

Needs a two way switch on torch to use the hidden menus (I’ve rectified this problem)

Not a straight forward machine to learn to use.
Obsolete no parts.

Honestly cant find anything about this to moan about. It is a switched transformer mig with all the bits where they are meant to be. Does what it says on the tin very well.

Power switch at the back, which is a PITA, as I’m limited on space so it’s currently sat on top of my DC Tig, under a bench. I live with it though.

Endless menus, I swear I get lost just powering it up. I live with it though.

Excellent build quality though, helped improve my welding skills from the Seigen I used to own..

TA 202, have to unplug the pedal to adjust amps. Might get round to fitting a switch inline so I can make it think the pedal is unplugged. Pedal and torch switch are on the same plug.

EWM Phoenix 330, not much to complain about except a bit bulky for hauling onto boats especially as I am getting old, oh and the switch being on the back when it is tucked up in its parking spot in the workshop. It is however such a lovely machine that I can easily forgive it for those minor shortcomings

I honestly can't, I could say things I wish it was such as a welder with a separate wire feed unit and a 20m interconnect but it is a compact and that is what it is meant to be, they do one that is a separate but it is not what I have so.....

Thermal arc 211i, nice simple machine but the fan is noisy, and goes on way to long

I am not sure if I should say anything about the Cebora Pocket Pulse yet as I have just got it and only had 10mins use so far.
Switch on back is again a downside but will only be an issue when parked up in the cramped workshop.
The 2 roll wire feed is not the best but we will see how it performs with more testing, so far it is ok but I have only used with a short torch.
Lack of being able to use a push-pull with it is definitely a down side for me but as it will only be a standby it can be tolerated
I am sure I will come back to either add or delete to/from the list as I get more time to play with it.

That is assuming I can use it with a 4m torch or better a 6m weld snake, if not then I may not be able to tolerate it

Is this the complaints section,well I have a complaint about 'Francis' TPS32i. When I had the EWM Phoneix 350 it had settings for root welding, dial in the wire diameter and press the trigger. This was quite handy any variations from there you can just fiddle a bit. If 'Francis' has them I haven'y found them, but then haven't looked too hard. So far if it hasen't been on the screen I haven't looked in the manual. But above all I actually have to hold the gun and point it in the direction I have to go. For what this thing actually costs it should tell me when it is finished and move itself to the next job

It's an older machine and not built to take a full size bottle so the rear wheels now have more camber than a fat girl in ugg boots.

Is a bit light on the 185 amps really, and seems closer to 165/170. (May be because hitting limit of 13amp plug)

Have the parweld xtt202 about a year now. Overall I'm really happy with it. The switch on the back is a bit annoying but I'm not that bothered about it really. I know the pedal issue seems to be a common complaint but I don't mind it. I've marked the pot on the side of the pedal at 120amps so I just set it there or at full power. The one thing that I really don't like is the way the connectors are so close together. It's like they've left room for another connection on the left.
