what work boot do you have ?

Got given a pair of these Dr Martin's the other week, very good boots.

I wear Trojan Steel toe capped boots , seem to do the trick, get a new pair every 6 to 8 months , laces never last long always burn through when welding / grinding !

The company i work for use trojan ,i struggled with ones with the bubble in the sole after 8hrs on my feet and dr Martins....putting the cofra's on was like wearing slippers in comparison ....I get issued boots but it was getting embarrassing asking for new boots all the time ,so I purchased another pair of the cofra and claimed the cash back at £25 they were less than half the price paid for dewalts/drMartins and timberlands they had been supplying the 12hr workers who were not restricted to trojan....whatever is comfortable to the wearer,trouble is mail order only

One of the few perks I get is a new pair of boots every year, so it's off to ARCo to see what they have that'll fit and doesn't cost ludicrous money... I tend to have a few pairs on the go at any time, currently Doc Martens, Element IIs and another pair... can't think what they are though. Some seem to suit workshop work better than site work, some are warmer when stood around, you just pay your (the company's ) money and go with it...

The comfiest non-work boots I ever owned (still have them but the sole on one has split so can't wear them in the wet ) were sold by Coleman, the Yank outdoor kit company. Seriously comfy, gripped on wet rock better than anything by Brasher or even my expensive Meindles.

Currently wear Scruffs steel toe cap boots. £50 and there really comfy, a bit heavy but you get used to that. There like the caterpillar/timberland boots you see in the shops which means I can walk the dog without looking like I live in my work gear (but I do haha)

Goliath mid leg foundry boots for me. Not the most comfortable or stylish but as tough as .........well old boots. No laces to burn.

I recently bought a pair of Timberland Pro Snyders in black from Ma**o cash n carry. The trouble started when I was buying them. The price when I got to the till was plus VAT. Safety boots should be VAT free (as long as the height of the top of the heel from the insole is more than 90mm). After about twenty minutes arguing with various members of staff, a manager decided to let me have them for the pre-VAT price. (This still included VAT). The manager argued that because the toe caps are not steel, they're composite, (still EN rated) they are VAT chargeable. Not so as I believe. Anyway, I've now had them for about a month and found them to be very light and comfortable. The only problem is that the top eyelet thingie on one boot became detached. Probably due to me pulling too tight on the laces. Not using the top row of eyelets any more so it doesn't really matter. I'm very happy with the boots and they are still very comfortable after a 8 hour shift.

It took me a selection of broken bones to realize why dealers and riggers were not considered protective boots on so many sites, Really carpet slippers are almost as good

Don't wear them to cut wood with a chainsaw either, they fill up ever so quick I was given a pair of Tom Cat boots a while back and they are the solidest boots I've ever worn similar to these.

I wear Dewalt ones they sell in Costco, great price at around £38.

Very comfortable from day one, I wear them for 'best' until they get a bit worn then use them in the workshop.
