What were you welding last week?

Welded up and plated the end of the dipper on my jcb 3ciii. The bush had tore out completely due to a previous owners repair having almost no penetration, so cranked the arc up and did a proper job.
Big thanks to archie for the 5m of 75mm cable that was the missing link as my boc 375 arc/tig never came with the arc pod or lead. Local diy shop provided a 400amp pod...

Yesterday I got the bloody thing stuck in the boggy field being cocky about traction in the conditions and only having 2wd, and at one point I was lifting round the rear of the digger using the bucket and arm and using it as a anchor to try and pull the thing out backwards. No cracks no issues. So its took 8 ton and proper abuse so far, and mrs F is happy because I prepared the veggie plot using it, none of this struggling round with the rotovator business

Just waiting on my mate to come over and bring me some s/h 3cx forks, then Ill be welding on some qd hangers for them, in the style of the . budget bucket fork bars here.
Ive got to repair the cab next, so it can be reunited with the digger. Its so rusty in places its almost see through so lots of cutting of new sections and letting them in.

hi mgarym I usually leave them at 15 in. centres on 1 1/4 in. pipe giving you about 14 in. gap you might need to leave a bit more for bulls around 17 centres for small wheelings around 13 in. but 15 in. would be standard

If you give me the height of the barrier I will work out the angle and the length of pipe you would need
or you can easily do this with some 2 by 1 timber just mark it in place and use as a blank to set you're saw also handy for setting the length for each cut if you don't have a stopper Hope this helps any more questions fire away

by the way i bought a second hand tullow muck spreader 7 or eight years ago
and haven't had many problems with it

All i've done this week welding wise, was to tack a bike petrol tank back together ready for further mods

I would usually keep the the top of one pipe inside the the bottom of the next one. what are you going to make them from I just noticed that you're from Ireland whereabouts are you
I'm not too far from abby machinery but I don't like the paint jobs on their machines as I have seen a five-year-old muck spreader with holes in it so I might try and get my hands on a tullow
