What Welder Should I Go For???

I am after a welder, Well me and my dad are.

Looking for a used one mainly on ebay and the likes etc, Or new if we can afford it.

£300 Max budget for one.

I need it to weld car body metal and upwards say 4 or 5mm max ?

and be single phase

spares available and reasonable priced

Ebay:..Ok if localish and you can see it working, stick to brands that get rated good on the forum, stay clear of the majority of Chinese stuff.

New: for your budget I would say a Clarke around the 150amp range.

You will need a minimum of £40 for mask and gloves, perhaps a regulator £25 ish and maybe wire, £8 to £25 depending on size.

I have mask and gloves, and we are ok for gas as well

Migatronics good, just be aware spares can be expensive & probably very limited on older models (as with must stuff).

Looks like at the minute clarke may be the best as spares are always available.

But we had enough of them with the 100en turbo we had

But i will keep alook out..

Erm.. what about Esab???

Are parts dear for esab???
