Cycling into work I spotted this in the hedge.

Perfectly cleaned , no other bones around and the jaw even articulates.
Some kind of hound?

Ouch, did not realise they had such big canines.
Would not fancy being bitten by that.
I have a bad habit, when i see interesting road kill I will sling it in a hedge and keep an eye on it for a year or so as it 'matures'. But this one was just sat on a root at eye level as I cruised past it this morning.

Chunkolini, the strangest things seem happen to you on your bicycle! I'd be tempted to mount the skull on the front of your bike with a light in it and the jaw connected to a cam on the front wheel so it opens and closes as you ride along to ward off mad rabbits and low flying divebomber birds.

They are muscalids, same family as otters, ferrets etc. that jaw locks when it bites, you most definitely do not want to be bitten by a badger.

If you look at my quote(blank) how do you know I was talkin about you, MR Chunkolini kind Sir, or is it that you have inferiority complex!! and it was a froidian reaction?
Ha this reminds me of Jim one of my 'beloved' apprentices who used to greet the latest wife, 'Hiya Chunky', at first, I ducked, just in case! but it was GREAT!I used to laugh and that made things worse, but he had the personallity to get away with it, with his life, but her greeting to Jim was not quite as nice, it started and ended with F!
