just thought i'd ask if anyones made a useful tool, along the same lines as shenion's metal folder.........bead roller/tube bender/guillotine?
any pic's, i made a engine lift out of ab&q trolley and an old car trolly jack and some of cuts of steel worked good for what i needed at the time
Im halfway through building a mandrel bender out of a old car axle, no pics yet though and I really must get back to it. I adapted a numberplate roller into a bead roller by making up male and female forms on the lathe, but I gave that a friend when I moved to france, as I did a lot of weird stuff.
Often lots of small and weird oddments are made in chez fluffy quick and dirty to get a job done...
I fancy a parking lift one day, but its probally cheaper to buy a old car lift and modify it...
and having lots of time and access to free stuff at the last job I had ,I made quite a few bits and bobs:Engine crane, load leveller,Car ramps,Slip rolls,2 Benders(1 Hydraulic).I made an engine stand as well but that got 'recycled' after using it for the car I was working on at the time. Most of it was made from plans found on the net or just by copying the design of stuff in the pictures on Machine Marts website
Today i'm going to build a crimping tool for cable lugs, to go in the vice. will let you know how it goes.
