I don't know what to do with this poly bush on my jeeps steering column. The column uses a ball raced bearing on the steering wheel end, but a soft bush on the firewall end. 40'000 miles on the clock and it's totally worn out as the shaft runs straight in the soft material. Any idea why Suzuki would use such a bearing? I have a lathe so I could machine a solid bearing. The bushes are not sold separately by Suzuki or anyone.
The column goes thru the firewall to a UJ, another shaft, and then attaches to steering box via a second UJ.
