he angle/sine plate thing is for dressing surface grinder wheels at an angle, the hole in the slide is to mount a diamond, used for grinding things like dovetails.
The optical flat is used like this. It looks quite small though so it might be an optical parallel, same principle but used for checking micrometer anvils rather than just furfact flatness. I'd imagine the monochromatic light isn't cheap.
