I've spent the last couple of weeks clearing this area; pulling up giant weeds, cutting down bushes and shoveling up what must be getting on for 20 tonnes of gravel.
Now the stumps need digging out and the whole area needs leveling and slightly lowering, in order to lay artificial grass and overpriced slabs.
The hire place have a few to chose from, from 0.8 tonne up to 8 ton, I'm not sure what I need, I think big but probably not the biggest. Having said that, Kayos said tool hire is for tools bigger than you need or can safely use, so maybe I need a 360.
There's also this to do, an area around each of air con units needs leveling for membrane and gravel, to hopefully stop the weeds from growing back and stop the mice from dying inside the units, like so;
I did that one and a half with a spade and a pick, it took eight hours, the others at the far end need digging deeper too so that'll take days by hand. As they're on a bank, I'm guessing it needs a fairly big digger to reach down from the top, rather than try to drive it on the slope and probably fall through the building.
The boss is happy that I'm competent enough to learn how it works on the far side and not go through the showroom window with it. Advice on driving it is appreciated too, I should be getting some instruction from the usual digger driver (who is too busy to do the whole job).
Yes I know they're excavators not diggers.
