I want to modify the front hubs on my E36 M3 drift car to allow for more lock.
This basically involves cutting off the steering arm mount and moving it further towards the wishbone mount.
Before everyone jumps on me saying it's dangerous and could fail, this has been done by quite a few other people before who are all still alive.
I'm only wanting to do this to my car which only ever gets used for drifting so there is no danger to other road users.
Anyway.
I plan to cut the mount off and move it backwards. I will V prep the joint with a 1-2mm root and tig the bottom of the joint then fill using arc. My question is, are there any specific arc rods I should use that will give me better strength like low hydrogen or some specific grade.
I'm more than confident in my ability to do a strong and safe weld, I just thought there might be a little something to be gained from using the right rods as opposed to general use "farm" rods.
