what price should a boxford lathe c3? be

go see it spell out its bad points and make a cheap bid liker i said use it then turn it over for profit . i bought a myford for 100 quid . didnt need it but it will sell for 400 cleaned up

I bought a few tools from the guy , decent enough but knows his prices so doubt I will get it that cheap (£100) yes realise with out power feed its a drag , as even several lifetimes ago as an apprentice did a year at a training centre, welding, milling , surface grinders ,lathes, electrical, etc etc so even then everything was power feed so yes it would soon get old , I will give him a moody cheap bid as its in an ass awkward place to get out thats for sure, you will probably see it on ebay after he says nooo.
anyways pleased with what I did get and see how it goes, at least thanks to you guys I can tell him its a trainer lathe, lowest spec you can get and as such not terribly sought after, rust,etc etc, you know how it goes..
Anyways on ebay...there is one local to me in southampton,currently @ 1 bid £500, suspect it will climb a lot though

Think the forum members are being a bit mean, £200 if in good condition with motor and tooling etc.
90% of what I do on the boxford is without using power feeds. Depends what you want to do though.

with the knowldge you guys have imparted I will bid him low explaining its the base model ,doesnt have power feed/rusty etc etc ,my geuss is he will say no and ebay it which is fair enough as unless its really cheap I will be happy to await the next one ,the other thing against it as ever its in a very awkward place for access/removal which obviously is sort of in my favour ,but doable with common sence.

So managed to get hold of the guy for a chat, explained it through to him and he is thinking it through , I said £50 as is no tooling apart from face plate, if it has other bits probably £100 depending what bits, must admit he did nt seem suprised.

There's also no backgear on the T so running at low speed e.g. to machine cast iron could be out.
