I have a really old bench drill and its drilled a lot of holes but the one thing i regret is not having a morse taper. How would the OP find out if an old British drill has a morse taper?? 9I guess he could askKeep your eye on evilbay, you will get a good old british one for £100 if you'repatient and you will never, ever, regret it.
but I just wondered if there are many about with morse tapers? If only this was closer. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Dut...Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item1c3b83cd22Looking at the spindle is the easiest way to tell. You'll usually see a slot for inserting a taper wedge/drift. The Pollard's which I've come across have MT spindles.
That's a magnificent beast, and likewise, 200 miles too far away!If only this was closer. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heavy-Dut...Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item1c3b83cd22
