Oops, didn't spot that. Yes, it does appear to be a collet. It looks to be a bit small given the enormous column etc.

That's why I mentioned that if it's an odd sized collet system it may be restrictive...if it's an mt3 collet though it would be very useful

Not unusual to see a collet on the Arboga drills. Most likely a standard MT, wont take a guess on the size.
They did that to give light milling possibility without using a tie rod.
A descent Arboga goes for around 1000 pounds here even if they are old and well used.

The maker is Sigfrid Stenberg, I cant find any info online about it.

He also has a 2012 bandsaw for sale it sounds expensive for hobby use but the last one he had was was massive.
