I thought a quick phone call might illicit more info, doubt they’ve been making the same model since 1945 but somebody at the firm will know what it was designed for.

Well I got a chance to try it out on the way home this evening and it works.

Pic of it showing that it is not as nearly rusted as the initial pic seemed to show, it actually seems to have a waxy oily kind of coating on the bits.

And the vid showing it working.

Now I suppose I have to work out a price to offer it for Seems from the few old sales I have seen they do go for serious money
