u have to remember there was not that much affordable power tools about.....
also nobody rebuilt houses or at least major works....like we do today...
all my dad had was a crappy old panel saw a couple of beat up, blunt wood chisels and a damaged claw hammer with a bit of broom stick for a handle......plus a sharp penknife.....
his method of sharpening was the back step.....
them were the days.....NOT.....
mind u when u bought wood the squirrels wern't playing in it last week, like now....
