What is the correct name of these timber bolts?

I've just replaced the shelving in my garage/workshop, and have purchased a load of plastic food containers that will make neat storage boxes, that I want to label up.

Can someone advise what the correct name is of these bolts that are used for timber?

You should watch them when rattling down the screws into railway sleepers.

This will be on my "todo" list once the forge is up and running. Looks like a nice easy project to make some really good looking bolts depending on the application.

The Gun smiths found a spiral grove cut into the nail allowed it to grip better.

The old 10 shilling muskets were made with screws so soft they round them self's out after a few shots.
