Any dock will be full off stuff, I knew a bloke who worked at Tilbury docks & they would get rid of oxy bottles by laying them on the edge of the dock & then whacking the valve off with a sledgehammer, saved taking them back at the end of the day.
At Chatham docks workers would dump anything in the dock to do the same when the hooter went. Rolls of cable you name it. It is rumoured that a few spare fuel rods off the subs went in there too.

My memories of working at Chatham Dockyard is that the Dockyard Matey's were already queing to clock out when the hooter went!
