I'm looking for a good quality bench drill for around £100.
Reading some of the other threads it seems there is a lot of play in the cheaper machines, so I paid a visit to Machine Mart.
The Clarke £70+ model had about 1mm of play in the column when fully extended and I could bend the table by forcing the chuck into it.
Soooo, I guess I'm not looking at one of these and I guess all the other machines (clones) at the price range are the same.
This leaves me with getting a good used workshop quality drill of Ebay or equivalent but I have little idea on what the brands are to look out for.
So, what are the good engineering brands and are there better places to look than Ebay, auctions maybe.
