When we kept chickens we came out to a horrible squealing noise one morning - we found they had cornered a frog and were pecking at it - if we had left them to it they would have had it for sure. The noise was horrible - like a high pitched squeal/shriek

cat, the neighbours often walk around ours and drop their game when you chase them off,headless, blue tits , black birds, pidgeons , even a weasel the black bird I was furious about , it would go up on a dead branch every evening, I would whistle a bit , it would look down as to say is that your best and then trill away fabulously , let me have another go and repeat, truly brilliant untill that fur bag got it.

Many years ago, backpacking in India, I was staying at the Jim Corbett wildlife reserve north of Delhi. One morning my travelling companion and me spied a big owl sat on the ground at the base of a tree, looking around, minding its own.
We went off and had a quick breakfast, then walked back planning to take a pic of the owl, except the poor thing was laying on the ground, minus its head.
No idea what may have chewed on it, but it was quick, and was gone by the time we came back.
Me, 30 years, and 30kg ago.....

had a magpie years ago and it could eat a complete small rabbit in 3 days just leaving the skeleton
a Pidgeon in 2 daysMy money is on the hedgehog, but there aree some mean cats around. Doubt it was a bird, the toad would have crawled away before dawn.
Good replies though, no welding today sorry. Been playing with a chinese quad. 4 year old grandson crashed it 3 times, the last one into the back fence, missed the tree thankfully. His sister was a lot more sensible.

A week or two later, back in Delhi, my travelling companions and me discovering we had all caught head lice....the curly locks were shorn off and I never had hair that long again.
