Hi, I'm new to forum so HI! I've been looking at a mig welder for some time to keep my van going, I've used a small clarke arc unit before for doing exhausts which was grand and I've used a small clarke mig for doing some panels and I think its probably about time I got my own lol. anyway I was looking at the wolf mig 140, now I know you all hate wolf migs but the new ones are non live and most importantly cheap, I don't need this for work I just need it to keep on patching up my old van.
BUT THEN I SAW THIS!!!!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blackline...b089d0&pid=100010&rk=2&rkt=24&sd=381709048617
It's an igbt 200A welder that does supposedly gas/gasless mig and arc. but there isn't much said about it in the description, it does have a euro torch (though I don't mind one without because when the torch does finally go on whatever welder I get I'll just mod it to accept a euro torch, I'm an electrical/electronic engineer so I really don't mind fitting a socket).
but it states in the description it needs a 30A socket, now i know a lot of single phase 240v welders "require" a 16A socket, but 30A! anyway I figure it won't come with a regulator so I'd need one of those and an extension pipe, but do you think it will run on a standard 13A socket with the lower settings?
the page doesn't seem to give enough info to figure it out, so was hoping someone on here may have one or have used one as I can't find any review on the internet or by searching on here, though the search function on here seems umm it's very difficult to use (not wanting to upset anyone on a new forum I've only just joined).
Anyway any help or advice welcome.
