What do you guys think ?

Hello all, just a few pics of some welds I made yesterday.

The frame is a mounting stand for a Rolls Royce Viper jet engine. (Static)
I used a very old oil cooled ac welder, the rods are 3.2mm Vortec marine and amperage was set at 118 as far as I can see through the glass window on the welder. Would of liked to use 2.5 but didn't have any left.
Any criticism/help/advice most welcome.

looks decent enough job to me, would like to see some plate welded to the open ends of the box section though

I think they look pretty good. You should put some plastic caps there though, it'll look much better and protect the inside.

Looks tidy, but go on tell us what you are doing with a Rolls Royce Viper jet engine, it may only be a small toy, but a jet engine.....................
Can I borrow it for a bike project when it is working properly.

Lookin good, clean the splatter off and caps as said above and your good for take off

Thanks for the replys. The viper will eventually end up in the back of my hilux, was a mad idea a couple of years ago but am slowly collecting parts. I was wondering if the engine would produce enough thrust to propel the pickup.
Anyway thats where we are up to, have some caps for the ends of the box section to go on.
