What do you chaps think of this set up?

As title really. What do you think of this set up? clicky here The wife is willing to spend about £300-£350 for a birthday pressie.

Any recommendations? I do a bit of body work but would like to have a pop at aluminium and stainless aswell. Plus I make engine mounts and roll cages every now and then. It's not a make I heard of TBF.

You get what you pay for mate, looks very cheap for what it is! I have the Miller XMT 350 equivalent, was over £5K new!

Not heard of the make, and so I would be looking for a known make if I were you. Clarke seems to be well regarded on here as a budget make.
The alternative is a quality secondhand machine -it's worth talking to local welding supplies places to see if they have anything. I got a Murex TradesMig for 200 quid through one local to me, with a quality torch and a significant amount of wire. It's a chunky machine but so much better than anything I could have got new for the same money.

Totally agree, better off buying a second hand reputable make like esab, murex, lincoln etc than budget rubbish

Do a search for Eastwood, it seems they are Chinese box movers with a poor reputation on American forums and the warranty is not as good as it seems?.
Have a look in the Weldequip shop at the top of page.

In the specs the ability to weld 8mm is a bit.................. optimistic?

I would look at recomended brands on here... Rtech, Parweld, Tecarc or go second hand.

You can usually get some great deals on quality second hand machines on ebay.
