Yeah , they sell at £2550 + VAT.
The guy I was talking to and I'm waiting for a price, used to work at MST , can't remember where he said he works now , but they deal with Fronius.
Got my Rebel and Hypertherm from Welly though, so I do support local(ish) dealers too
, but sometimes price comes into play.
Nipped in Proweld the other day as they do Lorch, but the basic one was more expensive than I could have got the control pro version for online.

I used WASP welding and they are good guys. I got the control pro on a really good deal.
I don't think you can get any better than Lorch backup. Matt always responds to any questions on this forum within a day.
I had mine delivered. No problems at all.
My local Lorch dealer couldn't compete unfortunately.

Pushed the button on the Lorch Micorstick Control pro, battery and charger from Wasp this afternoon, so should be with me on Wednesday. The job it's being used for kicks off Saturday so hopefully it's all good.
Got a good price buying all together and a set of leads chucked in the deal

Be aware the battery take a few charges before its up to capacity.

Is there a cut off point where the battery stops working before being fully depleted ?
Advice varies depending who you talk to about Lithium batteries.
Do you keep yours fully charged ? Or charge it up prior to taking it out on site ?

As far as i understand it will cut out when it reaches a minimum voltage, but i think all protected lithium batteries do that. This battery however is a different animal altogether. It has all kids of magic pixies thumping about inside.
I fully charge it after every job, because if i get an emergency call out i havent time to wait for it to charge up.

Turned up yesterday whilst i was away, so only just got a quick chance to play with it now (sometimes it's a PITA being busy lol)
Bear with my welds (wiggly) as I'm only just learning, but I was quite happy with that for an initial 5 mins play. Got through 5 3.2 rods in the end and the battery went from 5 bars down to 3.
Passing it over to the tame welder for the job that's paying for it this weekend, so will have to wait till next week to play some more

Even just using it in the back garden meant I didn't have to find the extension lead ( I know it's somewhere).
It's going to be invaluable on Saturday when they are up at 28 metres in a picker doing their bits and bobs

What's sort of stuff do you do? That's the exact reason I want the battery for mine. Work at height/rope access. Usually in a hopper or at the top of a gantry.

Mainly in the film industry. This job is a mock up of a big Manor House .
Lots of little brackets to weld on to the top of the roofs. Then 50mm runs of welds to hold some box section frames together. Fingers crossed they can do it on one charge .

Used to work for a company that does a lot of work in quarry's / sand plants.
Would of been great to use this there, whenever I spent time on site, it involved dragging long leads up conveyors for a job that would last no more than 5 minutes

Cordless grinders, magdrills, impact wrenches, die grinders and of course the welder must allow a great range of tools for such jobs with full independence from mains.
I don't think there's much that isn't readily available as a cordless item.
