Was talking to a colleague at work who mentioned a local old boy who, after being a mechanic for 50 years was hanging up his spanners and retiring. He was selling off most of his tools but kept the best...just in case!
Anyway, I ended up with an old ( circa 1981 ) compressor. Built like a tank and none of your chinese tat.
Its only 1hp and the tank is about 32 inches in length by about 14 inches diameter. It has a V-Twin pump, possibly made by Swan and runs fairly slow compared to some of todays machines. I think the motor runs about 200rpm.
It has a new pressure gauge and pressure switch which appears to shut off at around 100psi and back on around 70psi.
Will post a pic as soon as I lug it out of the back of the car!
Just wondered what I had and if it will do for general hand tools and whether it might even be up to a little blasting and possibly spraying.
TIA!
