I am almost finished welding a new sill and rear wheel arch to the nearside of my mk1 caddy. This is my first welding project. I am wondering if it is a good idea to paint the welds/new panels with galvanising paint before applying body filler. I have actually done this, to prevent rusting while I move on to the next section - but now I am ready to apply filler I don't know if I should remove the paint first?
Also, what is the best galvanizing spray to use? I have used the srewfix stuff which seems poor quality and one I bought from ebay, by 'easycote' if I remember right, it ssems better but drips a lot from the nozzle when spraying!
