I am fabricating a new jacking point for my car.
The jack looks like this, the lifting arm is 20mm in diameter.
And originally fitted into this tube, which once had a 4mm diameter wall.
I am guessing it needs to be a fairly close tolerance fit, but how close to avoid a poor fit while still being relatively easy to insert?
20.5mm, too much or too little?
As I don't think I'll find anything off the shelf I will get it turned on a lathe.
