Ha, how could I forget probably the best all around motorcycle there is ??!! Honda VFR750 or even the 800 !! It has the lot, decent performance, excellent handling, brakes etc, comfortable, compact, sounds good, everything you could want ! Bags of 'em for your budget !
PS, whilst browsing ebay I spotted a unused RC30, £40k !!!! Just to think, in 1988 I was struggling to choose between an RC30 and the then, brand new Ducati 851 !! I went Italian, still have it but I bet it isn't worth £40K, even though it is the kit version, one of only 200 !!

VFR a bit too sporty and all those thingy wotsits whizzing up and down and round and round. But yes great prices also the Triumph tourers. In fact some silly prices there.

Well, the VFR is known for it's bulletproof'ness !! Those Triumph's though, just soooo much bike for the money !

I knew i shouldnt have sold either of my RC's both 30 and 45 atleast when i get to those pearly gates i can say iv owned them both and ridden the wheels off them both at cadwell

the vfr is a great bike!!!! try one out there not too sporty chunko

We all have many regrets over bikes we wish we'd never sold !
Several on mine, my '79 Ducati 900SS that I converted to an NCR replica with many, many parts hand crafted by me and the winner of a prize at an Italian Motorcycle Owners Club do, presented by no less than Steve Wynn !!
My CB1100RC, big old bus but a very nice and rare bike.
My 1938 Ariel Square Four, bought as a partially finished resto but absolutely all there, never got around to finishing it, needed some cash and sold it just before the prices went mad for £2800 !! It's worth at least £20K now !!
Worst of the lot though, 1989 Ducati 888 corsa, full blown race bike, 1 of 25 ever made, brand new in the crate, never removed or unpacked. Bought it with a bonus I got after landing a massive contract for our business, they were being heavily discounted because at the time no one wanted them.
Flogged it for £10K, again because of a cash crisis, felt like I'd been robbed !! I had, it's worth every penny of £60K now !! Guy who bought it was a bike journo and was wondering whether he's done the right thing, wifey was giving him serious grief !! Bet he's the man now !
Never mind, I still have some nice machines.

Ducati 888, when bikes still looked hard. Lush, I reckon bikes from that era look better than modern stuff, all those namby pamby curves and styled looks. They look like Transformer relics, probably because their designers played with them in the late 80's.
CB1100 similar but not as brutal, probably last longer though.
VFR? I am after a sit up and beg thing.

I had a total of 5 of the original 8 valve Ducati's, they are superb. Best was my 888 SP2, Jesus that thing was quick, and the handling, it was thought guided ! The only Ducati of the modern era that I have liked since is the 916, would like one of those and they are soooo cheap ! That and the MV F4 are the best looking bikes ever made IMHO. You're right, new bikes look all over the place and I HATE this kicked up the ar5e look !!

The VFR is supposed to have one of the best riding positions ever, it's noted for it. I think it's adjustable to a certain extent but different bars and footpegs can be fitted.

the mv that i owned was an epic handling bike but i also had a 748 with tl1000 engine, now that thing was quick!

My dad had one of those er6f's DO NOT BUY ONE!!!!! they are such a poor handling bike its insane!! bare in mind iv raced bikes so know what one should feel like and that mad rear steer cycle you made chunko would honestly handle better!!!!!!!

Iv always lusted after the 888 dukes but never got round to having one. Still time left though

My next plan is a highly modded CBR600RR3 but im keeping quiet on what i want to do to it

Oh didn't know they were that bad. I made the assumption that an ER6 / Versys would handle OK as they are used to dominant effect in the MiniTwins race series

Sorry four cylinder, the old cb400 from the 70's was a lovely bike too, a nice classic. Honda bros's are very popular over here as commuters, they turn up for small money.
