Terrible mate. Did you get yourself set up again since ?
more and more have these little differences hidden on the packaging etc either way a lot of snap-on stuff is made in china / taiwan------ no getting away from it.
having said that many good things are made in china but why hide it ????
ANSWER---- to make more money!!
One of the top selling ( before he retired ) northwest S-O sales man asked me my views about a scissor lift he wanted, for his classic car, he got a price from S-O with his dealer discount etc etc but managed to buy the EXACT (and I do mean EXACT) same lift for less than half that cost privately.
So what would a customer be paying for that same thing ??
What brand are those green ones?I've got a obsession for collecting ratchets what are your favourite ratchets?
Here's my favourites at the moment especially the extending facoms.
I don't like the twisty facom the head is far too big,I like the the gearwrench for tight spots
I've got lots more a few snap on,some more facoms and some halfords and I've inherited lots of old britool.

Cant see the brand on my phone...or its my eyesight..Funny that you should post this as I have JUST got two sets, and was thinking about giving a heads up but thought NAH nobody would be interested
These are ace IMO, any body that uses them like them, a guy I do work for asked me to get some sets for him he liked them that much, and that was from just from using my 3/8 one for one job when I left it there whilst I went off for parts , they are 72 tooth easily extendable the head swivels but you can lock the head in a particular angle that means you can angle it up or down, but down is very handy coz you are pulling through a nuts 90 deg centre line, so the socket doesnt try to slip off, very handy when space is tight or you have a rust damaged nut, they are sprung just right IMO and will run semi tight nuts---- you know the ones------ that are too tight for the fingers, but the nut goes back and too with most ratchets. Snap on do a similar tool but at 5 times the cost, I have had mine now for several years, get used every day and they have had some stick, believe ME !! it is now my prefered ratchet they gets used all the time and have not shown any signs of age.
ok snap on have the guarantee but that doesnt stop them walking, if mine walked I would order some that day If I was to purchase these from snap on, the bill would be £400 +

I kept reading..lolpost 18
I bought the halfords one because it had an angled handle and turns into a spinner for the likes of running in and out spark plugs actually thats IIRC what they came in, a spark plug socket set, with locking 3/8 extensions to keep the socket on when pulling out the socket after tightening the plug in twin cam engines and was impressed with it initially, so bought another I still use them, but after a short time the heads become too floppy and it is a pain when trying to get to awkward bolt heads coz it flops over and the socket cant be 'directed' onto the bolt head. I have tried to re tighten it but to no avail I bought spare ratchet head kits but never have to use them. But having said that I have used snapon ones that have done exactly the same and gone floppyI have just bought a replacement from Halfords
baring scrotesits for life
good idea but they arnt a bolt just a through pinTake the bolt-pivot out and add a small o ring in there also, really tightens it up.
Like I said Norm, all it wants is a detent ball & spring. The person that designs it never used it, same as most things nowadaysgood idea but they arnt a bolt just a through pin
Yes exactly, shame coz the ratchet itself has took some abuse and never let me down and I like the angled handle for running stuff it forms a sort of speed brace. and for 22 quid for the set the locking extension alone would be more from snap on.Like I said Norm, all it wants is a detent ball & spring. The person that designs it never used it, same as most things nowadays
