It was dismntled waiting for a new ram. I had got the ram but not found time to fit it. Out in the metal shed the arm rests had gone mouldy, which I intended to clean up when the weather warmed up. Then the neighbour gave me leave to fill the un-used half of his 8yd skip so I had a good clear out, and the chair went with it all.

I've destroyed many chairs. Problem is most are only rated for 100kg - 120kg and that is Chinese measurement so take it with a pinch of salt ! At work we had chairs which were indestructible even with 20+ stone people sitting on them day in day out for years. Such chairs are expensive - £300+. Personally I got fed up of breaking the Chinese offerings and bought an ex office chair for £7.50 which I've yet to knacker

I wouldn't be without my Stokke Balans chair! Bought it in 2002 and I'm on it for some seven hours a day again now; has some flex in it and the rocking movement means your back and hips get some movement. Think they're called something else now... yup;

We have those CNR404 chairs at work... they aren't anything great to look at or sit on, and at first I kept adjusting everything... now I realise i can do 8 hour days in it no problem at all, no aches or pains... unlike my comfy leather swivel chair at home...

EDIT: And now I've seen the price of a CNR404, yup, that'll be why... honestly I thought they were cheap

Aye, Subaru Legacy 3.0 Spec B, all leather and still have the electric adjustability if I plug it in
Kept the head rest, save me from getting whiplash if the computer crashes

Also have an old Megane seat in the workshop.

I have a passenger side as well, does feel the same.
At some point I’ll make a holder My Brew and a few TIG rods. However Ive had the seat for at least 5yrs, so like thats going to happen

Herman Miller Aeron for me as well. You can get them cheap on gumtree from office clear outs, but they are very expensive new.

When it comes to office chairs, then avoid things that look comfy, gaming chairs, executive chairs, fancy padding etc, they will all be bad for your back in the long run.

Try secondhand office furniture people. Done re-furbs in banks and offices where desks, chairs and cabinets were removed by clearance firms and some put into skips that were as new but they had a budget to use up. A new DHSS office in Newcastle was moved into with all new furniture, the old one was just left.

I bought a cheap one on ebay and couldn't get the angle of the base right to sit comfortably so I took the base off and wedged a piece of 2x1 across the front then put some longer screws in and it's spot on now. The foam is getting a bit compressed now so I might have to find some softer and re-do the base.

It’s little known but submarine commanders can pick their own seat to be installed on the command deck. I installed a Bentley seat on one of them, 12k for the seat alone, it did everything but make you breakfast, what a thing it was

Keep your eye out for auctions.
I had a huge bargain when I first started my company. Office furniture company had gone bust. Big online auction. Most lots had nice pictures and the desks and chairs were going for good money. Quite a few lots had no pictures. But so what - an office desk is an office desk - descriptions were clear. I had £10,000 worth of office furniture for £1000. It filled a big van and a 10x5 trailer. I was going to sell what I didn't need but as my company has kept going we have used the stuff ourselves.
