Whereabouts in Finland are you? I spent a fair bit of time around Rovaniemi in the 90's - I can't remember it not snowing there! We just got home and it has snowed twice as much, we got stuck in the snow with our car in our own driveway! I had to shovel the car clear and then also shovel the driveway so my SO can leave tomorrow, hope it doesn't snow so much it needs clearing again next morning. We've at least gotten half a meter or more of snow now.
My mom knitted me another pair of woolen socks, great to have in the winter time.
You'll be sat naked in front of the electric fire ?Sex would be good but she will probably have a headache.
A full English breakfast would be good but she will probably burn it.
As for roast turkey lunch well who knows.
we have agreed for years to give the money we would spend on each other to a local dog charity......
Plus when we got married all prezzy's (money, went to the same charity).....
anyway,
we have these bundles of joy to share Xmas with.....
they were found at 2 days old dumped in a forest.....we only take in new born pups....all 7 have homes now and will travel towards the end of January.....
Finland, Holland, 2 to Germany and the rest to the UK...

Wish u all the best....thanks for the forum, a great place to be.....

I'd never buy a dog, so many out there in dire need of homes.
Ah, right - never been there but seen the signs for it! we used to spend some time just outside Kouvola as well, usually long road trips but occasionally a helicopter ride at night! - if it wasn't snowing too much....West coast near Vaasa area, in the middle of finland on the north - south axis.
12 hours? we used to get a max of 4, sometimes stretched to 6 at 5x pay for working Christmas day, how times change....
I know how you feel as I have had cancer more than once ,we are on our own , handicapped son in a home in Gloucester other son in Manchester, the only good thing about Xmas is time off work although I only work part time now.Not been a fan of Christmas for several years now, don't mind giving presents if I know what's wished for, people mean well but I hate receiving gifts and pretending they were just what I wanted.
The wife's not enjoyed the best of health; I'm her sole carer and we're in isolation, so won't be seeing anyone, she doesn't sleep well and has little appetite so lunch will be something light, no point me doing a typical roast for three quarters of it to be wasted.
No presents between us. Gave our adult kids money and money for them to buy whatever the grandkids wanted.
Like many, I'm looking to offload stuff not add to it.
Not one bottle of deodorant that I could pop the ball out to use on a project.
Santa, I don't like your supply this year.![]()
