Smashing, i'd love one of those. My last dog, i got at christmas time too. I was out for a walk on boxing day and came across a Fyffes banana box in a ditch up the road. Inside the box was a bin liner. I could hear a noise coming from it. So very gingerly i opened it. Turned out to be a litter of collie pups that some kind christian soul had dumped.
They were all dead apart from one, i remember being on my hands and knees in the grass, trying to see by moonlight if each one was alive, i had to hold them up to my face and see if they were breathing, but i knew by how cold they were, they were dead. So the one that was alive i kept, wrapped her up in my hat and took her home. Very kindly a local vet looked her over for me and didn't charge, wouldn't happen now. I had to get up every two hours and feed her stuff called "Whelpie" or something like that, a milk substitute.
I'd never buy a dog, so many out there in dire need of homes.

Ah, right - never been there but seen the signs for it! we used to spend some time just outside Kouvola as well, usually long road trips but occasionally a helicopter ride at night! - if it wasn't snowing too much....

Whilst I was doing some 3D prints for Knighty , my lass sat by the printer enclosure fascinated at how such a thin film of plastic could be precisely melted and made to build up a block of printed plastic. She said do you have enough filament to complete the job ? I told her it might be a close run thing .
She asked me what sort of filaments I'd be needing , I got them for my birthday 21 Dec & our family Christmas with our daughter & her hubby was also had on 21 Dec . Alison gave me eight x 1 kg rolls of black PETG ...I'm really chuffed , it beats getting things that you'll never use or find a use for .
From Alison over the recent years I've had £1500 worth of Canon camera & kit plus nigh on £1000 of 3D printer & set up for struggling to modernise several of our homes to allow us to move here & be mortgage free .
My prezzie to her this year which she hasn't a clue about is going to be a sensible sum to start off her stock market trading venture ... She's hoping to try and secure a long term old age pension income for herself & has little pension prospects. When I snuff it she will have very little disposable income for herself due to being my full time carer for the last 23 years.
She's been studying with a company doing real time online study , seminars & podcasts five days a week for the past 18 months and feels she is ready to start off by herself in Jan 2022 .

I asked for all 12 and got them.
Other guys who put in availability got 6 or 8 hours.
I think my resource planner likes to give me 12 hour shifts, i've had loads this month.

I know how you feel as I have had cancer more than once ,we are on our own , handicapped son in a home in Gloucester other son in Manchester, the only good thing about Xmas is time off work although I only work part time now.

I used to spend a lot of time at Christmas on my own,my ex missus would up sticks and take the boys off "back home " 5000 miles West! leaving me to keep everything going here. now things are different and downstairs is a riot right now, it is George's (the Afghan) first Christmas and as he is a greedy bugger I am just wondering how long it is going to be before he starts looking green around the gills and throws up from too many "treats". not long I wouldn't think, he has already had half a dozen Pigs in Blankets, he likes this Christmas thing!

i left a massave hint rather than say some thing this year tool ststion had stanley storage boxes on offer 50 reduceed to 30 left it on the laptop for 3 days on a night time she asked what i wanted for xmas
