Should have looked at picture No3.Oldham couplings are actually different animals to these jaw/spidaflex type couplings.
An Oldham coupling has a hard intermediate piece, usually Delrin/Acetal nowadays although I think possibly a hard wood originally. They have a slot on either side which are at 90 degrees to one another and they can allow both lateral and axial misalignment (within reason). They are indeed useful for the likes of stepper motors as they also have minimal backlash.
