I recognise them but don't remember why!

there replacement flints for lighting gas torches or part of one you turn them when there worn . rub one against a file and it will spark

Ah ha.
That explains why I found them in a box of gas torch parts then.

I vaguely remember chucking the lighter out years ago as it stopped sparking!

I've got 7 of the spare flints if anyone wants them for the cost of postage!

As above oxy torch sparkers. Funny thing is if you get them wet the only to get them to spark is to light the torch and use it to dry the striker barrel, except you can#t because the sparker is wet

i have 3 of the single flint cup ones, use on the propane and oxyacet welding torch
