your probably right Gordon lad worked on a lot of diesels so would be used on diesel pumps and injector nutsHello Alan, to me they look like a socket version of a Crow-Foot spanner, To act on 2 flats of a hexagon nut/bolt in restricted places.
In the dim & distant I have adjusted the cups on the balls of track rods on old Agricultural tractors and construction equipment with similar drag link sockets
I have three sizes of the flat bladed one at the right hand end. They're called track rod tools and have been very useful all sorts of things but never a track rod!
