what are these rivets for?

helping mate sort out his late dads shed, we came across a jar full of these rivets.
anyone know what they are for?
am thinking pos for fibreglass.

They're load spreading rivets for soft materials.
They're designed to peel like that so they don't damage whatever you're joining.

I also found some of them exact rivets in my dads shed!
As said very usefull on plastics, fibre glass ect.
I used some to atach a new bumper trim to my jetski.

I've seen them used on industrial roofing and cladding too. Sometimes have a rubber seal under the head.

Un popped they also make great swords for the little lego men, just carefully blunt them first. Perfect fit in their little hands.

They are known as Peel Rivets and are used extensively for fixings to fibreglass.

I've used them on golf buggies for attaching plastic bodywork to the frame. Great rivets!

The yanks call them blind rivets while we call them peel rivets.

I must have used fahsands over my 11 years working on them!!
