What are my options for a Mobile MMA setup?

Looking for a set-up, that will work as a unit i can keep in my truck for small repair welds. But will have the facility to run from 12v supply?

Would it be possible to run, say a 160amp inverter based mma unit from a large inverter or???

Cheap and not a specific in car set-up is what im looking for???

You can pick up very small/light inverter machines, easily run from a 13a plug, eve on an extension lead. Thats probably the cheapest option.

Else your looking at an alternator powered system, or a genny welder.

This may/ may not help. You can make a 12/24v MMA alternator based welder.
