Nope, I have a few air powered, but the large 3hp type with either 7" cup saucer wheel or smaller thicker "rock".
I've never seen those sold used, and can't afford new, the posting is the first time I've seen one avail.

i passed on getting one given years ago didnt have a big enough comp to run it . now got the comp but costs a fortune in leccy to run the comp so still not worth having

Yup, we've hashed that fact to death here.

It still stands that the OP is working the tool too hard.

Air powered can be stalled forever with no harm.

Cheap, fast, durable.

CP came out with "Hi-Cycle" electric grinders in the 1950's for those in industry that didn't want air powered.
The had a M-G set to make IIRC 400 hz 3 phase, and sealed motors with no brushes.

The German company Fein offer a similar system, with sealed 200v 300Hz 3-phase induction motors in the tools and an external inverter to supply the power:

I have a small 4" air grinder, brilliant bit of kit. Its not got the grunt of anything electric but you can get very good speed control on one which is useful, dont always want or need 10,000rpm.

Blow them out with a compressor, kills the brushes my boss reckons, don't see how myself.

If your compressor is blowing a lot of water out with the air it might otherwise I think it'srubbish.
I used to work with a guy who had a trick where he would take the brushes out of a machine, dip them in water then put them back in. They would last only minutes then and he would get an early day.

anyway my little contribution to an otherwise intresting thread...£100 budget just go out and buy 5 grinders from Lidil or same type of store, thats many years with a working grinder right there.

I have the Hitachi - noisy as hell - don't like it but the damn thing won't die!
The one that gets used and abused the most is my Bosch Cordless. Switch is a nightmare but again it doesn't die

I've destroyed expensive grinders just as quickly as cheep ones, I'd second the motion to buy cheap ones and view them as 'consumables'

i think some of mine were hot to start off with all 110v gear from sales. you have to ask yourself why would you sell perfectly working gear virtually new

Ive about fifteen 110v 125 and 115 grinders ,,, thats nearly half of my grinders in total , most of my 110v stuff is Hilti , whats happening is that the site work guys have all gone to cordless and most diy ers dont want 110 stuff , they practically give it away ,,,, ive saws , recips , tek screw guns and all sorts of stuff bough for pennies in the pound ...

I'm down to just the one now, a very old but obviously robust Bosch 115 (GWS 7 - 115). It's got the metal gearbox and is now on it's 3rd set of brushes and second capacitor. It outlived a Draper one and I think a B&D one picked up in Homebase or some such store for a tenner when they were closing down.

Great machine, wish I could find another.

all i use these days is the dewalt DCG405 18V cordless with the 6ah flexvolt, have 2 of them and cant wear them out...i do a regular airline blow out of the coils and switch assembly as its the metalic dust that kills these grinders...Still have the corded Bosh that i bought via a promotion about 6 years ago, buy 100 1mm discs and get the grinder free, thats used for flap wheels when the going gets tough.

Milwaukee M18 grinders. Unbreakable- powerful machines. The bearings wear out at after a few years but replacements are readily available and you can fit them yourself.
