Ok, so i suffered like whatsit with my old welder - was getting splattery globular transfer and terrible welds with tons of cleanup.
Biting the bullet as the machine was +5 years old and not top-of-the-range, i splashed a chunk and bought an Esab Rebel 2125ic - initial tests and work went great, nice clean easy welds with the sMig option, just as hoped for.
Today, i have four jobs to do for dispatch Monday, first weld went perfect, second joint went globular, all subsequent tests on scrap went globular regardless of settings on WF, voltage trim etc, just blobby, messy welds with more soot than usual.
Gas is Argoshield light.
Wire is same as old - 0.8mm Sif-Mig.
Clearly I have wasted (well not quite) my cash as the problem has returned - it is NOT the welder but something here.
So constants - wire, gas, electricity, me.
I have a roll of different wire, i will try that.
I have a partial cylinder of pure CO2 so will try that.
There are no signs of lights dimming or arc noises from the supply so i doubt it is related to loose wires etc, as it would interfere terribly with the IT in the house or shop.
Can anyone help here with suggestions, pulling my hair out now,
