OK I got the admix taken back and got the Bonding from screwfix. .......the container then only talks about adding to cement and other stuff. lol

Anyway revert to cowboy mode...... and i painted it on the floor giving it 24 hours to dry.
Some bostik ultra strong laid with a bit more to go down after that's gone off.

Anyway has anyone had any experience with hot air guns and vinyl welding rod.


It seems like they use guns shaped like a router/die grinder and not the ones with a trigger.....is that purely because the adapters for the rod only fit the die grinder style or is it temp related?

Have you seen the price of those guns, last time I looked they were about £400!!!

Yes this is my problem. I bid on one 2 days ago and it went for 2 quid more than I bid. 84 I think I bid.

That's why I am trying to find why a 2000 watt trigger type can't be used....as opposed to a 1500 die grinder shape.

Getting there......soon need to find a work around for a vinyl rod gun.

Can't you get a reducer for a standard heat gun which will accept a rod feed?
The design strikes me as easier for working on the floor (place down and pick up) and has a smaller diameter nozzle to focus the heat better.

Well spotted mate...damn expensive standard heat gun that. Lol But at 11 quid i might not bother making one.

Not standard. Digital temp. Ten degree increments. About the same price as the other brands offerings. When there run for long periods daily there worth the money. A 20/quid special wouldn't last the week.

Yeah i guessed that might be the case.

Looks like i will end up making the adapter and the speed welding shoe as nothing local is showing anywhere....

We had a split in a canoe where the deck joined the cockpit and I looked to get one of the hot air welding guns to do a repair till I saw the price.
In the end I made a 'concentrator' for the existing cheap hot air gun I had which worked really well.
