I like Finland, gets better the further North you go. Kuopio is nice.
Locals driving on ice because its quicker than driving around the lake
Locals not so good at driving on ice have to wait until summer when the recovery boats can play big boy fishing.

I had to go to a place in the North of Finland where they made trucks that drive around in salt mines (I think it was salt) about 12 years ago. We eventually got to this place and there was absolutely nothing there except this factory and a few houses. In a quiet moment I asked this guy "what do you do when youre not at work"....his reply was "we go fishing and we make love" ........." but in the winter its too effing cold to fish".........Thats a true story.

In those days I basically became the Technical Staff for Lincoln Finland and I spent quite some time there........it has to be the most boring country in Europe but I always found the people to be great.....I went to a Volvo Plant somewhere and when I got there it appeared deserted......then we realised they had massed all the workforce in this building and they were all sat waiting for me......daunting isnt the word for it.

I can think of a few places I visited, Helsinki, of course, Turku, Joensuu, Kuopio, Kokkola.....once flew from Kuopio to what I believe to be the most nporthern airport....that was a bit of a hair-raising journey and we couldnt fly high because of the wind and the temperature. Then they lost my bag in Kuopio.
